About The Series    
Championship Series:

The Magnificent 7 will award the top finishers in the race series at the first race of the following year (the Magnificent 7K race in mid-March).  Overall Magnificent 7 Champion Trophy: Goes to the overall Male & Female winning the Series Points Total. The 2nd and 3rd place finishers will also be recognized.

Age Group Competition medals: Male & Female Runners only. Trophies will be awarded to age group winner (overall champions are not eligible for age group category).
 
Age Groups:

The Mag 7 uses the following age groups (Male & Female) to distribute points in our season-long Championship Series. Individual races MAY NOT choose to use these same age groups for race day awards. See the race flyer for details.
13 & Under 30-34 50-54
14-19 35-39 55-59
20-24 40-44 60-69
25-29 45-49 70 & Up
     
 
All You Have To Do Is Enter a Race
 

It's easy to get involved in the Mag 7 Championship Series. All you need to do is simply enter one of the races in the series and we'll do the rest. Really. It's that simple.

After each race, we compile the results and assign points based on the information noted here. We track your progress at each race (be sure to always enter under the same name!) and update the standings on a monthly basis - sometimes more frequently.

But, perhaps more importantly, there's a good deal of camaraderie and fun. We hope you come out and join us for all the great races of the Mag 7 Series presented by Bloomington Sports and Wellness.
 
Point Assignment System:

The Championship Series automatically tracks your points whenever you participate in a Mag 7 Race Series event. You do not need to do anything but participate, and place in the top 3 overall, or top 3 in your age group, to acquire points.

The Mag 7 will hand out the Championship Series season awards at the first race of the following season (the Magnificent 7K in mid-March). See the race calendar on this site for the date and time.

Who We Are:
The Magnificent 7 Race Series was established by Dr. Jerry Ruff in 1997 to promote participation in road races held in the 7 south-central Indiana counties of: Brown, Greene, Jackson, Lawrence, Monroe, Morgan, Owen. The Mag 7 is dedicated to providing promotional and marketing support through this website, printed materials and race day support services for local road and trail races of the series. The Mag 7 neither owns nor conducts the individual races of the series. Each race is autonomous and chooses to be affiliated with the Mag 7 for promotional and race day support services only. The Race Director of the individual event is ultimately responsible for the administration and management of that race. Contact the Race Director for any issues or concerns you may have with their race. Please contact us through this site for any questions concerning the race schedule, promotions, marketing and administration of the series.
