Classifications: The Mag 7 assigns participants into the age group based on your age BEFORE December 31 of the schedule year, using the USATF rule concerning annual age group placement. The rule states: if an individual moves into a new age group due to their yearly birthday, they will be considered as in that age group for the entire year. (e.g. if an individual had turned 29 years old before Jan. 1 of previous year and thus turns 30 during the year of the race series, they will be considered in the 30-34 age group for the entire year.) Ties: Beginning in 2010 the age group winner will be determined by a tie-breaker. The award will go to the runner who achieved the most points in the fewest races (5 race minimum). 2nd tie-breaker will be the runner winning the most in head-to-head competition. 3rd tie-breaker will be the fastest time on a USATF certified course. |
